last weekend we spent two days decompressing and sunburning on the pacific coast at sipicate. finally - fresh air, hot weather that wasn't too muggy, a pleasant breeze, water that was bathtub temperature and soft black sand. perfect ingredients for bliss, healing and world peace. then there were the brown pelicans surfing the waves, a pod of at least 150 dolphins swimming out just beyond the second break during breakfast and to top it off, to my extreme delight and amazement, i discovered phosphorescent plankton when i took a dip in the sea after dark. at first i thought perhaps some tiny falling stars had landed on me by mistake but then i noticed more winks and glitters in the disturbed water that was rushing around me. everytime i slapped or sloshed the waves the plankton lit up and glowed. wow! absolutely magical. i went dancing in the waves two more times that night. needless to say, this trip to the beach will remain one of my fondest memories of my time in guatemala.
What a beautiful gift you were treated to. A relaxing and healing communion with Mother Nature. Sounds like that magical catharsis was custom designed just for you :-)
