laundry time

the lavendaria on the bottom is a communal one. the city does actually drain it and scrub it out periodically. i usually see women washing their clothes here in the morning. i'm not sure i would ever feel like my clothes were clean though because the horses that take people around town park right next door. the overpowering odor of horse pee doesn't mix well with clean laundry.

the picture on top is of the washing sinks on my roof deck. no urine smells and a territorial view. what more could one ask for? perhaps for someone else to do their laundry. that's the route i usually take. there are privately owned lavendarias all over town and its pretty cheap. my laundry is done for me, my meals are prepared for me, my house is cleaned for me, my daily schedule has been decided for me and i rely on others to do most of the talking when out in public. sometimes i feel like a bumbling baby that can't do anything for myself. returning home should be interesting for leah since i will only remember how to make phone calls, blog and build cement walls and benches.
